Passport DOCS Entry in Amadeus, Galileo and Sabre

How to enter passport details (SSR DOCS) in Amadeus, Travelport Galileo and Sabre, with examples, a format comparison and the checks to make before you end the booking.

What is a passport DOCS entry?

A DOCS entry sends the passenger’s passport details to the airline. It holds the document type, number, nationality, issuing country, date of birth, sex, expiry date and full name. Airlines need it for border checks. CTCM and CTCE are separate entries for the passenger’s mobile and email.

How do I enter passport details in Amadeus?

In Amadeus, add the passport as an SR DOCS element linked to the passenger with /P1. Fields are split by hyphens: type, issuing country, number, nationality, birth date, sex, expiry, surname and first name. Use three-letter country codes and dates like 12JUL85.

SRDOCS YY HK1-P-PAK-AB1234567-PAK-12JUL85-M-15JAN30-KHAN-ALI/P1

How do I enter passport details in Travelport Galileo?

In Travelport Galileo, add the passport with an SI entry for the passenger, such as SI.P1, followed by SSRDOCS, the airline code and HK1. Fields are split by slashes in the same order as Amadeus. Check the passenger number before you end the booking.

SI.P1/SSRDOCSYYHK1/P/PAK/AB1234567/PAK/12JUL85/M/15JAN30/KHAN/ALI

How do I enter passport details in Sabre?

In Sabre, the passport entry starts with 3DOCS. Fields are split by slashes, and the passenger is linked at the end with a name number such as -1.1. Use the passenger’s name exactly as it appears in the passport’s machine-readable zone, then check the response.

3DOCS/P/PAK/AB1234567/PAK/12JUL85/M/15JAN30/KHAN/ALI-1.1

How do the DOCS formats compare?

All three systems carry the same passport fields in the same order. The difference is the command at the start, the separator and how the passenger is linked. This table shows the three formats side by side for one passenger, so you can compare them quickly.

How to prepare a passport DOCS entry, step by step

Work from the passport, not from memory. Read the details, check each field, build the entry in the right format and link it to the right passenger. Magic Toolbar does the reading and building for you, but you still check each line before you copy it.

  1. Scan or paste the passport into Magic Toolbar.
  2. Compare the name, number, dates and nationality with the passport.
  3. Fill in any field marked as unclear.
  4. Choose Amadeus, Travelport or Sabre.
  5. Copy the entry into your GDS and check the response.

What should I check for children and infants?

Confirm the passenger type, date of birth and name spelling. An infant’s DOCS entry uses MI or FI as the sex code and is linked to the adult who travels with them. Age rules depend on the airline, so check them before ticketing.

How should I handle passport reading warnings?

Compare every field Magic Toolbar reads with the real passport. If a field is marked as unclear, fix it yourself instead of guessing. A correct MRZ check means the code lines were read cleanly. It does not prove the passport is genuine or that the passenger may travel.
