What is the difference between CTCM and CTCE?
CTCM is the passengerâs mobile number. CTCE is the passengerâs email address. Airlines use both to send flight changes and delay messages straight to the traveller. Always use the passengerâs own details here, not your agencyâs number or email, unless your workflow says otherwise.
How do I write an email address in CTCE?
GDS systems cannot use some email characters, so you replace them. Write @ as two slashes (//), an underscore as two dots (..) and a hyphen as a dot and slash (./). Use capital letters. For example, ali_khan@mail-box.com becomes ALI..KHAN//MAIL./BOX.COM in the entry.
| Character | Write it as | Example |
|---|---|---|
@ | // | ALI//GMAIL.COM |
| _ (underscore) | .. | ALI..KHAN |
| - (hyphen) | ./ | MAIL./BOX.COM |
How do I add CTCM and CTCE in Amadeus?
In Amadeus, add each contact as an SR element linked to the passenger with /P1. The mobile number goes in full with the country code and no plus sign or spaces. The email uses the special characters shown above. Add both if the passenger has both.

In Travelport Galileo, start each contact with SI and the passenger number, such as SI.P1, then SSRCTCM or SSRCTCE with the airline code and HK1. The number and email follow after a slash. Check that each line is linked to the right passenger.

In Sabre, contact entries start with 3CTCM or 3CTCE. The mobile number or email follows a slash, and the passenger is linked at the end with a name number such as -1.1. Use the same email characters as the other systems and check the response.
3CTCM/923001234567-1.1
3CTCE/ALI.KHAN//GMAIL.COM-1.1What if the passenger refuses to share contacts?
A passenger can decline to share contacts. In that case, airlines expect a CTCR entry that records the refusal, instead of an empty booking. Ask the passenger first and explain why airlines want the details: they use them to warn about delays, cancellations and gate changes.
What should I check before I end the booking?
Check the country code, the number and the email spelling against what the passenger gave you. Make sure each contact is linked to the right passenger, not the whole booking. If Magic Toolbar warns that a country code is missing, ask the passenger rather than guessing it.
