What are Amadeus command notes?
Amadeus command notes are a short list of the entries a travel agent uses every day: checking seats, booking, adding names and contacts, pricing and saving. This cheat sheet groups the most common commands by task, with an example for each one you can copy and adapt.
Which Amadeus commands build a booking?
A booking needs flights, names, a contact, a ticketing arrangement and a received-from line before you save it. Check availability with AN, sell seats with SS, then add each element. End and save the booking with ER, which also shows the record again.

| Sell seats | SS | SS1Y1 |
| Add a name | NM | NM1KHAN/ALI MR |

| Save the booking | ER | ER |
| Retrieve a booking | RT | RTABC123 |
| Cancel an element | XE | XE4 |
| Cancel the itinerary | XI | XI |
Which Amadeus commands price and decode?
Use FXP to price and store a fare, or FXX to see a price without storing it. FQD shows the fares for a route. To decode codes, use DAC for a city, DAN to find a city code and DNA for an airline.
| Task | Command | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Price and store | FXP | FXP |
| Price, information only | FXX | FXX |
| Fare display | FQD | FQDKHIDXB/15DEC |
| Decode a city | DAC | DAC KHI |
| Find a city code | DAN | DAN KARACHI |
| Decode an airline | DNA | DNA EK |

Where are the Amadeus passenger entries?
Name, passport and contact entries have their own detailed guides with examples for adults, children and infants. In short: names use NM, passport details use SRDOCS and contacts use SRCTCM and SRCTCE. Follow the related guides below for the full formats and checks.
How can I keep these notes one key away?
Magic Toolbar keeps command notes for Amadeus, Travelport and Sabre in one place on Windows. Its GDS decode search helps you look up codes quickly, and you can save your own entries to F1âF12 keys. Notes are a reference, so always check the response in your GDS.
